Father Sentenced To Prison For Impregnating His Daughter
An Edo State Family Court has sentenced a 42-year old man to 14 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling and putting his teenage daughter in a family way.
The convict identified as Friday Moses was said to have been sleeping with his 13 years old daughter since she was seven after the death of her mother died.
Friday, a commercial motorcycle operator hails from Cross River State and resides in Edo State.
Presiding Magistrate, J.O Ejale who did not give an option of fine said the sentence would serve as a lesson to the convict as well as deterrent to paedophiles.
The victim who is a primary six pupil is now five months and two weeks pregnant.
She is the eldest child of the convict and is currently in the protective custody of the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development for adequate care.
