Fayose takes the day in Ekiti as PDP restores ex-governor as leader, rejects Olujimi
– The Ekiti state executive committee of the PDP in Ekiti state restores former Governor Ayodele Fayose as its leader
– The leadership of the party in the state says it does not recognise Biodun Olujimi, a Senate minority leader, as its head
– The party claims Olujimi and its former secretary, Tope Aluko are moles planted by the APC to cause problems in the PDP
The Ekiti executive committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reportedly restored former Governor Ayodele Fayose as its leader in the state after rejecting Senator Biodun Olujimi, a senate minority leader.
The party leadership in the state also dissociated itself from the reported stakeholders’ meeting which replaced Fayose with Senator Biodun Olujimi, as leader of the party in the state.
Daily Trust reports that the party’s SEC reaffirmed its stand with the former governor as the leader of the party in the state.
The report noted that the SEC, being the highest organ of the party in the state, is comprised of the its working committee, the chairmen and secretaries at local government and wards and elected public office holders among others.
The report said a communiqué issued at the end of their meeting in Ado Ekiti, claimed that Olujimi and a former PDP state secretary, Tope Aluko, were agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) commissioned to destabilize the PDP.
TRACK NEWS earlier reported the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Ekiti state recently removed Ayodele Fayose as the leader of the party in the state.
Senate minority leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi, who is the party’s highest ranking political office holder in the southwest geo-political zone was affirmed as PDP’s new leader in Ekiti state and southwest region.
However, five federal lawmakers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), representing Ekiti state in the House of Representatives, recently passed a vote of confidence on the Gboyega Oguntuase-led state executive of the party.
