The operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have killed a notorious kidnapper.
Tracknews Online understands that the kidnap kingpin, Umar Bappa, popularly known as Maishede Blakie by his own people was engaged in a gun duel by the operatives from the Pegi Division.
Blakie’s gang members are said to have narrowly escaped their dead-end by jumping into the bush, but they watched in regret as luck ran out of their leader.
Confirming victory recorded during the operation in a statement released yesterday, FCT command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, said one AK-47 rifle, locally-made firearms, ammunition, 15 AK-47 magazines, suspected fake military camouflage, drugs, six mobile phones and N47,000 cash were recovered from the hoodlums.
Adeh explained in the statement that the victims of the criminal gang were rescued unhurt and were all taken to the hospital for medical attention after which they were reunited with their families.
“Efforts are being intensified to arrest other members of the gang,” the Deputy Superintendent of Police, said.
The statement further said that the command has commenced investigations into the reported abduction of a doctor and five others in Chikuku village of the FCT.
