Another notorious Kidnapper arrested in Calabar

A notorious kidnapper, identified only as Richard, has been arrested in Calabar South local government area of Cross River State.

The kidnap kingpin, TrackNews Online learnt was arrested on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, morning by the Operation Akpakwu – setup by the Cross River State Government to combat all forms of crimes and vices in the state.

According to a security source, Richard who operates within 8 miles area of Calabar Municipality, was arrested at Anantigha, Calabar South Council headquarters.

The suspect is cooling off in the Police custody awaiting further investigation and possible trial in the court.

Recall that on Saturday, a dreaded gang leader in Cross River State, Kingsley Utomobong, who was arrested for killing Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Egbe Edum, was allegedly killed in the Police custody.

TrackNews Online further learnt that Utomobong, who was arrested two week ago along with some members of his gang, was becoming too much of a problem as he was said to be mentioning names.

Although, details of his death are still sketchy but multiple security sources have confirmed his death in the Police Custody.

Meanwhile, late ACP Edum, who was serving in Borno State, is said to be the nephew of the State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ivara Esu.
