Bayelsa Central Bye – Elections: PDP candidate dragged to court over false information

As the Independent National Electoral Commission tightens the loopholes for manipulation candidates have resolve to the judiciary to undo their opponents.

In Bayelsa it has been very common as The candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC for the Bayelsa West Senatorial seat Honourable Peremobowei Ebebi has been disqualified already by a Federal High Court in Yenagoa and he is now appealing it.

His strongest opposition Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP is also in court for the submission of false information under oath in his INEC for EC9. He was dragged to court by his kinsman seeking Dickson be disqualified for name irregularities in his submitted documents.

In a recent development, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the Bayelsa Central Senatorial seat Cleopas Moses is now in court also for similar allegations. He was taken to the Federal High Court in Yenagoa by one Mr. Joseph Mac Ede Alakere.

In a suite that has the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and Mr. Moses Cleopas as first, second and third respondents respectively, he pray the court to disqualify the PDP candidate from participating in the forthcoming Bye – Elections on the ground that he provided false information in his INEC form EC13C under oath to the Electoral body.

The suite which was filled on the 6 of November, 2020 at the Federal High Court in Yenagoa with suit number FHC/YNG/CS/76/2020 is set for hearingon the 17th November, 2020.

The flag bearer of PDP in the Central Senatorial By-election, Moses Cleopas stand the risk of disqualification by the courts going by the facts provided by his kinsman. The onus of his disqualification is hinged on Multiple names in his Certificates and a suspicious degree he allegedly obtained from RSUST.
