● ● Seeks to Create ICT -Related Jobs for Youths
IN-COMING Senator of the Bayelsa East Senatorial District has promised to set up sophisticated Information Communication & Technology Centres in Nembe, Ogbia and Brass. According Chief. Blessing Izagara, his target is not just to empower youths with ICT skills, but skills that are relevant to the workplace.
Chief Izagara also assures his constituents that he would liaise with companies operating in the area to create intermediate-level job opportunities for qualified ICT experts, noting that job creation cannot be left in the hands of government alone.
For those who know, Chief Izagara is an ICT expert who has worked in several capacities. Until he made the commitment to answer the call to service, he was Bayelsa State Commissioner for Science &Technology. He has massive experience in ICT, especially the use of informatics for job creation.
“Foremost on my agenda is to establish ICT Centres where job-related skills will be taught. We shall also liaise with the oil majors to appeal for job placement for Youths. That way, we shall be using a stone to kill two birds: training youths in ICT skills and creating job opportunities for them”. My word is my bond, Chief Izagara reiterated!
