TRACKING ___The Federal Polytechnic Bida, Niger State Chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Education Adamu Adamu to declare the seat of the Rector of the Polytechnic vacant.

In a statement titled: “How do we claim improved system in Federal Poly Bida Amidst non-stop crises” signed by the Chairman, ASUP-BD, Abubakar Ndasabe, the union stated that the continuous desire of the Rector, Dr Abubakar Abdul-Dzukogi to stay on despite having retired runs contrary to the provision of 1999 Constitution, Section 169, 160 (1) and 318 (1).

The union noted that having submitted his letter of voluntary retirement, the Federal Government should take all necessary steps towards filling in the seat of the Rector and prevent him from achieving his selfish desire of returning as a sole administrator.
