OGBOINBIRI IN THE OIL AND GAS BUSINESS IN NIGERIA.

By Oseke EbiladeiTRACKING> With the discovery of Hydrocarbon (Crude Oil) in Ogboinbiri Community in the early 1980’s! The follow up discoveries have been consistent, till date drilling Activities are on going.Ogboinbiri is the Hosting Community of the Nigerian Agip Oil Company(NAOC) and Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) respectively. With Oil Mining License Number (OML 63).The Mining License covers the whole of NAOC Swamp Area Operations consisting of Four (4) Flow Stations namely:◦ Tebidaba Flow Station ( 1974 ).
◦ Clough Creek Flow Station (1975 ).
◦ Obama Flow Station and
◦ Ogboinbiri Gas Plant and Flow Station
respectively. (1989).The license is covering a land area of 2,246km2 (554,998 acres) and the second largest license of the OER’s portfolio in terms of production and reserves.Ogboinbiri community share no oil well with no other community in the NAOC Swamp area operations.As at 2014, the OML 63 produced between 25 Mbbls/d to 50 Mbbls/d with 76 production and injection wells of which 43 are actively viable.Of these active wells across the four (4) Flow Stations in the Swamp Area. 23 Production wells are from the Ogboinbiri Flow Station amounting to approximately 60% of the total production across the NAOC Swamp Area operations.This data was for the year 2014! Since then, an additional 4 Wells have been drilled and still in the Ogboinbiri Field of the OML 63. Bringing the total active and viable wells to 47. And Increasing the oil and gas output by a tremendous amount of above 200 MMscfd.All of the producing fields in the OML 63 contains both light and medium oil ( 16° to 45° API), gas condensate and free gas.To be continued!!!
