Sylva to meet Buhari for mandate

TRACKING >>The Minister of State for Petroleum Timipre Sylva has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari has asked him to come back to him for his mandate.

He made the disclosure on assumption of office at the Ministry in Abuja where the Permanent Secretary Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan; Group Managing Director Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Mallam Mele Kyari; the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board Engr. Simbi Wabote, other heads of agencies in the ministry.

Sylva sought for time to familiarise with the ministry before making making a chatting his course.
“I will like to familiarise with what is happening in the ministry and it is only after that we will sit down again and reposition the ministry and then we chat a way forward,” he said.

It was however a homecoming to the same ministry that he once served as the Special Adviser to the former Minister of Petroleum, Edmund Daukoru.

He was still familiar with some of the NNPC staff, who he exchanged pleasantries and banters with.

The new minister, who was accompanied by his wife, Alanyingi, expressed confidence in the competence of the management of the agencies under the ministry.

Speaking, Esan told him, that the management team that is poised to work hard has also prepared to work with the minister.
