•••••kidnappers who killed DCO gave reason they did so
According to a news that was posted by Punch Newspaper early this morning, it has been alleged that the Rivers State Police Command has successfully arrested kidnappers who kidnapped and killed Late SP Moses Egbede, who happens to be the former DCO of Afam Police Station in Rivers State.
While the suspects were confessing during parade, they revealed it that the Late SP was kidnapped on the 21st of July, 2020 around Obiama Pipeline Road and took him to their camp in Agbeta, Eleme Local Government Area of the state, where they contacted his wife and demanded for N50million ransom from her.
However, the ransom was later reduced to N1MILLION, of which his son on the 31st of July, 2020 took the money to meet the kidnappers at Ogale Pipeline Road and despite collecting the ransom, they killed the DCO the second day and threw his body inside well.
While one of them was giving reason concerning why they took Moses Egbede’s life, he made it known that there was a particular time he kidnapped someone and the victim later revealed his identity to the police and when policemen came to arrest him, they didn’t meet him at home but, they met his wife, as his wife was taken into detention.
Some days later, his wife was released and when he asked for the names of the policemen who embarrassed him in front of his wife, the late SP name was given and due to that, they kidnapped and killed him after collecting N1million ransom from his family, for embarrassing him in front of his wife.
