There are calls for the arrest of the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, after a chieftain of the Labour Party, Kenneth Okonkwo, reminded Nigerians of the time he mandated his supporters to snatch power during the presidential election.

Kenneth Okonkwo, who capitalized on a petition by Festus Keyamo for the arrest of his principal, Mr Peter Obi, argued that Tinubu deserves to be arrested more than Mr Obi.

Keyamo had demanded the arrest and prosecution of Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party and his running mate, Baba-Ahmed Datti, for “incitement and treasonable felony”.

Reacting during an interview on Arise TV, Kenneth said: “Tinubu made a treasonable statement, that you have to grab, snatch and run away with the power at all cost but no one has petitioned them to the DSS.”

A chieftain of the PDP, Dino Melaye had also condemned Tinubu’s statement saying, “How else will power be snatched through the ballot box if not a resort to violence, electoral violation, and other unorthodox methods of grabbing power. It is now very clear why Tinubu refused to sign the Peace Accord. The international community and security agencies take note.”
