FG Begins Payment Of New Minimum Wages To Civil Servants
The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared that it is prepared to start paying civil servants the new minimum wage.
Bawa Mokwa, the spokesperson for the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, informed reporters of this development on Thursday.
In remarks to reporters on Thursday, he said that workers who are paid by the federal government could anticipate receiving notices about their revised minimum wage compensation starting today.
Mokwa did not, however, specify if any unpaid arrears would also be paid out in addition to the minimum salary.
Federal Government civil officials will begin receiving the new minimum salary on Thursday, September 20, 2024, he declared.
“All I can say is that today is the minimum wage salary payment; I’m not sure about the arrears,”
