FG Releases Names of 24,000 Companies Qualified to Apply for Govt Contract in 2023 – See Full List
The Federal Government has unveiled an extensive roster of eligible companies eligible to bid for government contracts. However, these licenses are not indefinite and come with an expiration date set for the upcoming months, concluding in December 2023.
Selection of companies for this list was based on their adherence to employee pension and insurance payment requirements. A total of 24,516 companies have secured pension clearance certificates from the National Pension Commission.
With these certificates in hand, the companies are now legally qualified to actively pursue government contracts within their designated operational domains. The National Pension Commission (PenCom) revealed the list through an updated document that was made public on its website on Monday, August 14, 2023.
The document, titled “A Compilation of Organizations Granted Pension Compliance Certificates in 2023,” is expected to see further additions before the year’s end. As of August 2023, the list already contains 24,516 approved names, surpassing the figures for 2022 (26,556) and 2021 (25,841).
Legal Provisions for Pension Certificates
The regulations stipulated in the National Pension Act demand that a company fulfill the minimum prerequisites of establishing a pension account and procuring life insurance coverage for its employees to qualify for the compliance certificate.
Furthermore, companies lacking insurance coverage for their workforce will be barred from engaging in any governmental transactions. PenCom’s perspective is that these regulations will motivate companies to ensure proper pension accounts for their employees.
