Fire guts FCT Administration’s ICT unit
A section of the ICT Unit of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) was gutted by fire on Thursday.
The incident was a result of a power surge at about 8pm, according to Muhammad Sule, Director of Information & Communication.
The inferno, which partially affected the server room, was contained by the men of the FCT Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service.
The team of emergency responders, assisted by security men on duty, put the situation under control in about 15 minutes.
The FCTA management assured the residents of Abuja that what happened would not affect daily operations.
“There is no cause for alarm. The incident will not in any way hinder the smooth operations of the ICT Unit nor any function,” Sule said.
The statement further commended the police and the fire service personnel for successfully suppressing the inferno within a short period
