Many have questioned Rabiu Kwankwaso, the NNPP’s presidential candidate, as to why he did not challenge the election results in court. His party has expressed dissatisfaction about the vote papers’ lack of their name and insignia.

Buba Galadima, a senior party official, has clarified the circumstance. Despite having sufficient evidence to prove his case, he claimed Kwankwaso chose not to file a lawsuit because he did not want the election to be called off.

Galadima highlighted that Kwankwaso was more qualified than any other person or group to challenge the victory of Bola Tinubu of the APC in court. He emphasized that the election should be declared invalid simply because the NNPP’s name and logo were not printed on the ballots.

He claimed that the lack of recognizability of the emblem made it challenging for voters to recognize the party. He added that the omission of the NNPP name and logo on the ballot papers was a contributing factor in the low voter participation.

So who will benefit if we file a lawsuit and invalidate this election? hear him ask. Nigeria must advance, and we are aware that many people have been waiting in the wings for the past year to form an interim national administration. To give them a chance would be inappropriate.

But he issued a warning against contesting the election results in court. According to him, if the election was declared invalid, Nigeria would not gain anything from it, but those who were waiting would have the chance to set up a temporary national administration. He emphasized that Nigeria needed to advance so as to prevent giving such people the chance to destabilize the nation.
