FUO student, 19, dies from illicit drug overdose
The deceased popularly known as Alas, reportedly collapsed and died after taking a drug known in local parlance as Colos.
According to some students, the drug (Colos) was mainly taken among youths involved in internet frauds popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’.
A student, who pleaded anonymity, claimed that the deceased Alawari-Kei was celebrating a recent breakthrough on an internet deal with his friends when he allegedly consumed the illicit drug that killed him.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bayelsa State Command, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident.
Butswat said the body had been deposited at the hospital for autopsy and that investigation had been launched into the matter.
