Ganduje presents N245.3bn appropriation bill for 2023 to state assembly

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has just presented a N245.3 billion budgetary proposal to the state House of Assembly for the 2023 fiscal year.
Tagged Budget for Consolidation and Prosperity II, its estimates are over N49b above the 2022 budget, and it’s to be funded through statutory allocation, grants, loans and IGR.
Ganduje had last year presented over one Hundred and Ninety-Six Billion Naira (N196b) to the Kano State House of Assembly, for the 2022 fiscal year.
The 2023 proposed appropriation bill has N144.6b as capital expenditure representing 59 percent of the total budget size, while the recurrent expenditure in the proposed bill stood at over N100bn, representing 41 percent of the budget size.
The budgetary appropriations will be the last of such presentations by Ganduje to the State House of Assembly as he is expected to bow out of office in May next year
