Ganduje’s Son Flee Nigeria After Dragging Mother To EFCC Over Fraud
The first son of the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, Abdulazeez, has reportedly left the country for Egypt with his family after reporting his mother to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged fraud.
Sources close to the family had disclosed that Abdulazeez dragged his mum who was accused of using family access to power for enrichment to the anti-graft agency.
The Kano State Governor is yet to react to development which has stirred reactions on social media.
According to Daily Nigerian, the Governor’s son departed the country after filing the petition to avoid the anger of his parents.
A source was quoted as saying, “Abdulazeez left Nigeria for Egypt with his family immediately after filing the petition. He told us he would remain there until the father leaves the office. He has avoided his parents and gone underground since the beginning of the crisis.”
The Governor’s wife had shunned an invitation for questioning over a bribery and land fraud case levelled against her.
It was gathered that Abdulazeez reported to the anti-graft agency that he was approached by a property developer to help facilitate the acquisition of some plots of land in Kano with some hundreds of thousands of US dollars and at least N35million as “facilitation commission.”
Abdulazeez had alleged that he had given the money, which was in dollars, to the Kano first lady.
“But three months later, (the property developer) discovered that the plots of land he wanted and had paid the first family for had been allocated to other buyers and he then requested to be refunded,” a source had said.
