Gombe United head coach blames mid-season break for his team’s defeat to Plateau United

Gombe United head coach, Aliyu Zubairu has blamed the mid-season break for his team’s defeat to Plateau United.
The Savannah Scorpions lost 2-0 to their hosts at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday night.
Chimezie Izuchukwu and Nenrot Silas were on target for Plateau United in the game.
Zubairu also rued his side’s failure to convert their chances.
“The mid-season/election break has impacted on our performance and my players failed to utilise pocket of goal chances we created,” Zubairu told a press conference.
“We are not sharp at the moment but I believe we will get better as the season progresses.”
