Gov. Diri Condoles With Turnah Over Mother’s Demise
TRACKING___Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has commiserated with Barr. George Turnah over the passing of his mother, Deaconess Elizabeth Titi Charles.
The mother of Barr. Turnah, who was Director of Special Duties of the Senator Douye Diri Governorship Campaign Organisation, died last weekend after a protracted illness.
In his condolence message to the family, Governor Diri said the late Deaconess was a Christian leader that positively impacted her community and humanity in general.
He said her strong devotion and commitment to Christian values necessitated her spending time and resources to propagate the Gospel and teachings of Jesus Christ throughout her lifetime.
“She would be remembered as a woman of strong Christian conviction, who spent her resources in building a church in Ahoada, Rivers State and a pastors’ quarters in her community.
“I urge her children and family to take solace in the fact that she lived a fulfilled and impactful life.”
While praying for the peaceful repose of her soul, Governor Diri noted that in the words of James O’Barr, “if the people we love are stolen from us, the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them.”
