GOV OKOWA TO INAUGURATE DELTA 7TH ASSEMBLY TODAY 10TH JUNE 2019, NEW HOUSE PRINCIPAL OFFICERS TO EMERGE.

TRACKING>>Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa of Delta State, will today 10th June, 2019 inaugurate the 7th Assembly, in compliance with constitutional powers vested on him as Chief Executive of the State.

In line with internal rules of the House, legislators are expected to either return the Speaker of the 6th Assembly, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori or elect a new Speaker for the 7th Assembly.

Gov Okowa shall be accompanied to the inaugural ceremony by his deputy, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro, State Party Chairman, Okakuro Kingsley Esiso, Father of Government, Prof Sam Oyovbaire, Secretary to Delta State Government, Barrister Chiedu Ebie, Head of Service, Reginald Bayoko, Chief of Staff, Olorogun David Edevbie, Senior Political Adviser, Rt Hon Solomon Funkememe, former Speakers, former Principal officers, party leaders and top government functionaries.

It is the tradition that the choice of Speaker is an internal affairs of the legislators and today will mark another historic journey to a higher level in our democratic experience.

It is hoped that the incoming principal officers of the 7th Assembly shall do the needful to provide good governance to the people of Delta State, through proactive and progressive legislation as it were in the 6th Assembly, especially the attainment of the Stronger Delta Agenda.
