Gov Okpebholo Reinstates Edo Attorney General Osagie After Suspension

Governor Monday Okpebholo has lifted the suspension of Edo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Samson Osagie, 37 days after his initial removal.

In a letter dated March 12, 2025, and signed by Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Umar Ikhilor, Osagie was informed that an investigative panel had cleared him of financial misconduct allegations. The letter, marked SGA. 15/NOL.XV111/215, stated that Governor Okpebholo had directed his reinstatement effective immediately.

Reacting to the development, Osagie expressed gratitude to the governor for his transparency. “I appreciate his sincerity of purpose and vision for the state. This is a clear indication that His Excellency, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, means well for Edo State. I remain committed to supporting his administration in restoring Edo to its rightful place,” he said.
