Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has praised the resilient spirit of the state’s indigenes for excelling in their various business ventures nationally and internationally despite the country’s challenges.
“Ndi Enugu have demonstrated resilience in the face of the nation’s economic challenges,” he said.
Yesterday, Gov. Ugwuanyi inspected the 1500-120 TPH capacity Marini Batch Asphalt Plant in Emene, Enugu, which was recently built by an indigenous construction company, Eketeson Resources International Limited.
The governor specifically thanked the company’s Managing Director, Chief Engr. Donald Ekete, an Enugu State native, for the bold initiative of investing in the state, describing it as a great project.
Gov. Ugwuanyi, who attributed the state’s current peace and security to God’s kindness and mercy, pleaded with Him (God) to allow more Enugu State indigenes to invest and open more business ventures in the state.
The governor prayed that the Eketeson asphalt plant project will be a reference point in the next 50 years, and that the company will grow from strength to strength, providing employment opportunities for more Enugu State residents.
He took advantage of the opportunity to encourage other Enugu indigenes to return home and invest, emphasizing that God is in charge of the state’s affairs.
Engr. Ekete, Managing Director of Eketeson International, welcomed Gov. Ugwuanyi to the asphalt plant and described the governor’s presence as a great honor and demonstration of his commitment to investment and business growth in Enugu State.
Engr. Ekete revealed that the Eketeson marine asphalt plant is 001-2022, and that “Eketeson has the world’s latest version.”
According to the Managing Director, the company’s asphalt plant produces 120 to 150 tons per hour and has the capacity to do any mixed design for its clients, revealing that “only RCC and Julius Berger have this kind of asphalt plant in Nigeria.”
He stated that the project has a minimum capacity of one hundred workers as well as other inherent benefits for the state’s people and government.
Engr. Ekete thanked Gov. Ugwuanyi for creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in Enugu State, particularly for the opportunity the governor and the state provided the company to actualize the landmark project.
The traditional ruler of Agunese Mmaku Kingdom, Awgu Local Government Area, HRH Igwe Cyprian Maduabuchi Nevobasi, applauded Engr. Ekete for the milestone achievement and thanked Gov. Ugwuanyi for providing peace and security in Enugu State, which he said enabled the asphalt plant to be located in the state.
