Governor Ikpeazu Deserves Re-election, Says Agbazuere

An Abia based politician, Dr. Anthony Agbazuere, has disclosed that Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu deserves to be re-elected to build on the development foundation he laid in the first term.
In his address during a press conference yesterday, Agbazuere who described Ikpeazu as a “genius who hails from Abia South Senatorial District’’ said he deserves a second term to continue his good works and urged all aspirants contesting the gubernatorial election position against the incumbent governor “to have a rethink and back down’’.
Agbazuere called on the affected aspirants to heed to the clarion call and save their resources “in the spirit of camaraderie, equity and greater development of our dear state, Abia’’.
According to him, “Anyone therefore who is contesting for the governorship position of Abia State and is not from Abia South Senatorial zone is being most unfair to equity, his conscience and the people of Abia State.
“I know those involved are noble men and women and I urge them to take this advice seriously and wait for their turn. Above all Ikpeazu will win again come 2019 and it is worthless wasting resources”,he said.
“A governor who was sworn in on Friday 29 May, 2015 and on Monday June 1, 2015 as his first official assignment flagged off seven road projects at Aba and on Tuesday 2 June, 2015 also flagged off road projects at Umuahia and has continued to build roads till today deserves commendation.’’
He recalled that in appreciation of the exploits of Governor Ikpeazu, the Federal Government of Nigeria honoured Abia State Government as the most-friendly micro, small and medium scale enterprises (MSME) state in Nigeria.
“Over 70 roads have been constructed with drainage systems and street lights by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu so far and many more are ongoing.
“Re-asphalted roads include Georges Street, Pound Road, Park Road, East Road, St. Michael’s, Jubilee, Mosque Street, Kent Street, Hospital Road, Ube street, Adazi Street Aba, Umuwaya Street, Abam Street, Kaduna Street, Awolowo Street, Ubakala, Warri by Club Road, Bende Road, Niger Street all in Umuahia,’’ he said.
