Group Slams APC Over Muslim-Muslim Ticket in 2023
By Adeleye Kunle
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria has been chastised by the Centre for Justice on Religious and Ethnicity over the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.
According to the center, the selection of former Borno State Governor Senator Kashim Shettima as the APC vice presidential candidate is a clear indication that Boko Haram and ISWAP will resume their abduction of children from schools.
According to the center, over 200 Chibok School girls were kidnapped during Shettima’s tenure and have yet to be found.
According to Track News, the centre announced this in a statement issued on Saturday by its Director-General, Rev. Kallamu Dikwa.
It went on to say that the ruling party’s decision was motivated by its desire to spread Islam, as well as the beliefs of Boko Haram and ISWAP.
According to the center, the same faith ticket does not ensure ustice, equity, and fairness to all for the country’s progress and development.
It did, however, advise the Southern region to band together and ensure the election of a President from the region in 2023.
“We are deeply concerned about the utterances of some Nigerians regarding who becomes the running mate to the presidential candidates of political parties for the 2023 general elections,” the statement said in part.
“Over 200 Chibok Schoolgirls were abducted under the supervision of then-Governor Kashim Shettima and have yet to be found.” The selection of former Borno State Governor Sen. Kashim Shettima as the All Progressive Congress’ presidential running mate is a clear indication that Boko Haram and ISWAP’s abduction of our children from schools will resume in full. As a result, Nigerians must exercise caution when dealing with Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.
“The release of Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists from the Kuje correctional center is a well-planned attack by this government to sway the upcoming 2023 general elections for the All Progressive Congress.” As a result, Nigerians must take serious note of this and begin working against it immediately.
“Nigerians have reached a point where they will unite, regardless of religion or tribe, to carry every part of the country along towards ensuring a formidable nation.”
“We stated that a Christian/Christian or Muslim/Muslim ticket does not reflect well on Nigerians’ sincerity in ensuring justice, equity, and fairness to all for the country’s progress and development.”
“It is unfortunate that some preachers are inciting and brainwashing their followers into believing that the country has the capacity to produce a President and Vice President.”
“Finally, we advise the entire southern region to unite and fight for their rights; it is time for the southern region to rule Nigeria as president.”
