TRACKING____A group, the Niger Delta Rights Advocates (NDRA) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly to investigate the approval for full payment to the contractor handling the construction of the headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) when the project is yet to be completed.

It also called on the National Assembly committees investigating the activities of the NDDC to beam their searchlight on report of the Office of the auditor-general of the Federation concerning alleged irregularities in the contract for the completion of the NDDC headquarters building.

NDRA, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt by its spokesman, Darlington Nwauju insisted that the contractor handling the NDDC headquarters building project did not obey procurement and standard engineering regulatory procedures.

The statement said that the contract for the headquarters building was first awarded in the sum of N4billion to Marshland Construction Company before being taken over by Rodnab Construction Ltd in the sum of N16.2bn with full payments made on the alleged instruction of Senator Akpabio.
