Gunmen attack Adamawa Speaker’s residence, kill vigilante, abduct two persons
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers stormed the residence of the Speaker, Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas, killed a vigilante and abducted two persons.
The attack occurred on Thursday, November 5, at the Speaker’s residence located at Mbamba, an outskirts of Yola. It was gathered that the Speaker was not around during the attack.
Spokesperson of the Adawama State Police Command, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident on Saturday November 7.
“A certain house was attacked by unknown gunmen who killed a vigilante and went away with two persons,” he said.
He added Police Commissioner Olugbenga Adeyanju had since ordered police operatives to get after the gunmen and ensure release of the abducted persons.
Meanwhile, the Speaker Abass said he would address the media on the incident.
