Gunmen Invade Area During Soludo’s Prayers, Kill Two Security Officers

Two security men have been murdered by gunmen at Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to Daily Trust, the victims were killed for attending a prayer session organized by the governor of Anambra of state, Charles Soludo.
The unfortunate incident which occurred during Monday’s sit-at-home order took place after the prayer session had ended.
DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the state police command spokesman, said that only one person was murdered during the attack.
He explained further that the incident occurred around 10.30 pm on Monday April 4.
The hoodlums had invaded the area and began to shoot nonstop along the road close to Aguata LGA Secretariat before the bullet hit one of the Church security men.
The spokesman stated that no arrest has been made yet but the command had deployed it’s operatives around the area.
However, an eyewitness told the publication that more than one person was killed from the incident and added that the gunmen invaded the area without any challenge from anywhere.
Meanwhile, security operatives attached to the Ogun State Police Command have arrested one Saheed Ogundahun, for murdering and burying a herdsman in the bush.
The herdsman identified as Zanda Abu, was killed on March 12 after an argument ensued with the suspect.
The suspect, who is reportedly a citizen of Republic of Benin shot the deceased after he found his cattle grazing on his farm.
Lanre Bankole, the state commissioner of police revealed during a press conference that the matter was reported by one Alhaji Bature Umar at Ewekoro Division on March 13. Read more
