Help us make peace with Ogbe-Ijoh – Aladja Community to Delta govt
Aladja Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State today called on the State Government to genuinely make peace between them and their Ogbe-Ijoh neighbours as they mourn their fallen heroes who lost their lives in the agelong crisis which started in 1996 till date.
President of Aladja Community Council, ACC, Shell GodFirst Okakotu made the call in honour of their departed heroes.
Okakotu called on the Delta State Government to act very fast and bring lasting peace to the two warring communities.
While noting that war does not bring development to any community or State, the Community leader said, ”We need peace”.
In his words, ”Wepray that the State Government should help us look into the matter and let peace be restored to the two local governments and communities.”
He pointed out that the celebration of their fallen heroes was to encourage the Aladja youths as well as assure them that the Community is strongly behind them.
The Warefare Chairman of Aladja Community, Mr. Benson Doro in a chat with Our Correspondent urged the Delta State Government to settle the land dispute between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh Communities and allow peace to reign as well as put an end to the killings of their Indigenes.
Mr. Doro noted that crisis does not bring anything good to the two warring communities.
According to Mr. Doro, “They should try as much as possible to bring peace between the two communities.”
He said the community comprising of youths and children embarked on the celebration of their Indigenes who died since the crisis with Ogbe-Ijoh Community in 1996 till date
