Hotel demolition: Wike’s political family, GDI, blasts MASSOB leader

TRACKING_____The Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI) Worldwide, the main political family of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has lambasted the founder of the Movement for Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, following his recent attack on the governor and grand patron.GDI, gave Uwazuruike a 24-hour ultimatum to tender an unreserved apology to Rivers people and the world for calling Wike unprintable names while reacting to the demolition of two hotels in Port Harcourt by the governor. The MASSOB leader in a viral video reacted angrily to the governor’s decision to pull down two hotels for violating his Executive Order on COVID-19 threatening to lead an uprising in Rivers capable of sacking Wike as governor through an emergency rule. But rising from a meeting in Port Harcourt, leaders of GDI condemned Uwazuruike for disrespecting the office of the governor of the state and deploying many unprintable names to describe Wike.President of GDI, Bright Amewhule, who read the common position of the group, said Uwazuruike went personal to attack Wike because the demolished hotel in Eleme Local Government Area was used as a camping ground for the MASSOB leader’s thugs.Others who signed the statement were GDI’s Deputy President, Paul Kobani; Secretary, Samuel Nwanosike; Publicity Secretary, Nnana Oporum; Board of Trustees member, Zik Nwaikiri and Woman Leader, Patience Ibiam among others.Amewhule said following the realities on ground, all GDI members must be at alert to contain Uwazuruike declaring the MASSOB founder a persona non grata “in any state or country where GDI exist”.Addressing Uwazuruike, the GDI President said: “We want to refer him to Rotimi Amaechi, who will properly brief him on his sad experience when he wanted to fight with Rivers people; how he was sent out of his party then and as governor of Rivers State with the mass mobilization of the grassroots members and till today he has no peace.“He should also note that we are Rivers people not Igbo people. He does not know the meaning of Wike. Okorocha (Rochas Okorocha of Imo State) and any other governor in his region cannot match Governor Wike.“And it is our knowledge that the demolished hotel in Eleme Local Government Area has remained the camping ground for Ralph Uwazuruike’s thugs till when it was demolished. Which responsible organisation has Ralph led other than a notorious gang?“Based on the realities on ground as the President of GDI Worldwide, I hereby directs all members of GDI in any part of the world to be at alert. Ralph is hereby declared persona non grata in any state or country where GDI exists.“We issue a 28-hour ultimatum to Ralph to render an unreserved apology to Rivers people and the world at large for calling Governor Wike all sorts of names else he must surely face the music. We have the capacity to contain him”.Amewhule also took a swipe at others criticizing Wike such as Chima Nnokam, Chris Finebone, Femi Falana, Dakuku Peterside and Senator Magnus Abe, saying they were all quiet when the previous administration of Rotimi Amaechi took alleged illegal action. He asked members of the public to disregard the critics and appreciate all the positive measures put in place by Wike to protect Rivers people from the Coronavirus pandemic.
