How Certificate Saga May Disqualify Andy Uba, Stop Him From Challenging Anambra Guber Results

The right of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the recently conducted Anambra State gubernatorial elections, Senator Andy Uba, to challenge the results of the elections may be stopped by a Court case whose ruling has been slated for December 10, 2021.
It could be recalled that the legitimacy of the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Andy Uba, to contest for the governorship seat of Anambra State is being challenged in a suit filed by the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Social Democratic Party, through her counsel, Chief James Onoja has argued that the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to declare “that the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) May/June 1974 Statement of Result purportedly issued by the 4th respondent (West African Examinations Council) through Union Secondary School, Awkunanaw, Enugu, Enugu State, to Ubah Emmanuel Nnamdi with candidate number 05465/08 submitted by the 1st respondent (All Progressives Congress) and 2nd respondent (Senator Andy Uba) to the 3rd respondent (Independent National Electoral Commission) for the 2021 Anambra State gubernatorial election is false.”
Noticeably, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is asking the Federal High Court, Abuja to declare Senator Andy Uba “unqualified” to vie for the governorship seat of Anambra State, relying on an evidence that Senator Andy Uba tendered Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) May/June 1974 Statement of Result as his academic qualification for contesting the governorship seat of Anambra State.
However, it is important to remember that West African Examinations Council (WAEC) only started issuing Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in 1988.
Considerably, if the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) started to issue Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in 1988, the 1974 SSCE Certificate that was presented by Senator Andy Uba may, possibly, be questionable.
However, the Federal high Court, Abuja where the suit is being heard has fixed judgement for December 10, 2021 when each party in the case will know their fate.
Considerably, if the Federal High Court Judgment favors the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Senator Andy Uba will be disqualified and his governorship ticket under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) would be voided.
Consequently, Senator Andy Uba will lack legitimate right, to proceed to the tribunal, to challenge the results of the recently conducted Anambra State Governorship Election.
