Sheikh Abdur-Rahman Maigona, an Islamic scholar currently performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia, has died, TrackNews reports.
The cleric from Gombe State died days after completing hajj rituals at the Namma Mawadda Hotel in Makkah. He was said to have complained about illness before passing away.
According to an eyewitness, the Islamic scholar declared Khalimah Shahadah (Laila Islamic lahu – There is no God but Allah) before succumbing to his injuries.
Islamic scholars agreed that such a proclamation is a sign that the person will receive Allah’s blessings.
The late Sheikh Maigona’s body was taken to Masjid Haram for Janazah and burial.
