While giving the opening speech at the HSE Summit 2020, held virtually on Friday, the Group CEO said his company is championing the Summit course to help stakeholders come to the light of the open opportunities around HSE.

Last year, the Century Group partnered Global Performance Index (GPI) and public and private organizations to pull thousands of people to a physical event, discussing the theme “HSE in Our DNA; The Billionaire Lifestyle”.

However, the 2nd edition of the summit, which discussed the theme “HSE in Our DNA; Recycling To Wealth” was held virtually this year and over 5000 persons across Africa registered to attend. According to Ken, “the focus is on the environment which is in recognition and alignment with the United Nations’ emphasis on climate change and the protection of our biodiversity”.
Ken said COVID-19 has caused a tragic loss of life and resources, and the effort to fight its consequences has put the spotlight on HSE. He suggested that recycling civil used plastic and other forms of waste will help the country to avert loss of resources that have the potential to generate wealth.

He adjudged that their advocacy edged towards a circular economy is based on knowledge from the practical application of the research they have carried out to harness the opportunities in HSE.

“Why we are championing this cause is because we have researched and applied the standards in our operations and we have reaped, astonishing benefits.”

“And now we want our youth, regardless of discipline and educational background, to recognize and embrace with revenue-generating and employment opportunities in HSE practice”.

“Our vision is to create the opportunity that goes beyond rhetoric by genuinely giving our people the tools for a new awakening and to consciously think the right action under every circumstance in this which HSE is a consideration through partnerships with key stakeholders”.

He furthered that their “mission is to extend our safety culture beyond the walls of our offices and factories, to provide practical support to everybody through training and reorientation which will bear good fruit we shall all be proud of. The goal is as important tomorrow as it is it was yesterday”.
