I Am Still In Politics Until I Die – Bafarawa

Former Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa has denied ever retiring or nursing any plan to retire from politics.
Bafarawa clarified that the fact that he doesn’t contest any elective office or accept political appointments does not mean he has retired from politics.
Tracknews reports Alhaji Bafarawa made the submission during a recent interview with The Sun which was published on Tuesday.
According to him, he would remain active in politics until he dies.
On why he would remain active, Bafarawa said he can’t sit idle and watch things go wrong, adding that he is very much interested in who becomes the Governor of his State and the President of Nigeria.
In his words, “I did not retire. I am still in politics until I die. I am not taking any elective office or appointment but I will be in politics until I die. But I want to know who is my president and my governor. I cannot sit down at home and see all these happen. I have to work to see who will be my president and governor. So, I was misquoted to have said I quit politics. Never.”
Meanwhile, a former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has decried a situation that may see people of his generation still dragging political offices with the younger generation in Nigeria.
According to Obasanjo, such a situation is abnormal and shouldn’t be happening.
The former Nigerian leader however called for collaborative efforts between the older generation and younger ones in making the country better.
