There was chaos in Kra-Kekere community, Ogunrun, and Mowe in the Obafemi Owode area of Ogun State after a hemp seller identified as Toba allegedly slit the throat of his girlfriend, Tunrayo Odubanjo, and dumped her corpse.
An eyewitness identified as Peju narrated to newsmen how the incident happened. She said that the boyfriend killed his girlfriend because she wore his slippers. Peju revealed that after the victim wore his slippers, he told her to leave his house. She added that the deceased begged him, but she later decided to leave. When the victim was about to vacate the house, she couldn’t see her slippers, so she asked her boyfriend for it. The boyfriend told her that he threw it in the bush. After pleading with her boyfriend to retrieve it from the bush, he pursued her into the bush and started beating her.
The eyewitness said that when she tried to intervene, the boyfriend threatened to use a tile on her. She added that she heard the victim begging and that, after a few minutes, the hemp seller used tiles to slit her throat and tried to run away but was nabbed by residents.
