Igbo man will be Nigeria’s next President – Ayogu Eze

Senator Ayogu Eze, on Saturday, expressed optimism that an Igbo man will emerge Nigeria’s next President.
Eze, who was the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate during the 2019 election in Enugu State, said the APC would zone the presidency to the Southeast in 2023.
He spoke at his Ozzi ward in Umuida, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area where he revalidated his membership of the party, alongside his wife.
He carried out the exercise in the presence of the chairman of the party’s membership revalidation and registration panel for Enugu State, Senator Jonathan Zwingina, Enugu APC Chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye, Amb. Fidel Ayogu, among others.
The former Senator quoted the national chairman of the APC caretaker committee chairman as saying that the Igbo would produce next President.
“The national chairman said yesterday that the APC will give Ndigbo the presidency; I see this as a party that loves our people. So, is there any other thing we want?” He asked, charging the people of the Southeast to get registered with the party.
He added that the party had brought several developmental projects to the region, including the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, which he said received pockets of promises from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but there was no action.
Eze also used the opportunity of the membership revalidation to restate his stand as a staunch member of the party.
“The revalidation of my membership today clears every doubt if any. I am a staunch member of the APC.
“I send a strong message; anyone who thinks I belong to any other political party is deceiving himself. I have brought my wife to show that are not divided at all on this as a family.
“I urge the people of Umuida, the people of Igbo-Eze North and Enugu State in general to come out en-mass and register,” he said.
Earlier in his remarks, Zwingina said he was delighted that the exercise had gone on smoothly in Enugu State right from th stakeholders meeting held at the onset of the registration.
While assuring the elders of the party that it was not a waste of time, he called on all Nigerians, including civil servants to register, stressing “they are allowed by the Constitution and by the ruling of Supreme Court to belong to political parties.”
