Ijaw Group To Resist Threat Against Tompolo, Sylva
Mohammed O. Taoheed reports,
The Ijaw Interest Advocates (IIA), also called Izanzan Intellectual Camp, has claimed that it will resist any threat that will shorten the relative peace all over the Niger Delta.
This was in reactions to threats by a “faceless” pro-Ijaw group against Minister of Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, Tompolo and among other stakeholders over pipelines surveillance contract awarded to Tompolo.
Amb. Arerebo Salaco Yerinmene SNR, the National Coordinator of the group, said that their action is “a display of greediness” in a statement issued yesterday, adding it was disheartening to see purported Ijaws envy their kinsmen.
Adding that the surveillance contract was a far cry from what was due the oil-rich region, part of the statement charged the “gun gang” to orde their efforts towards engaging the Federal Government on other projects that will benefit Niger Delta people.
