By Adeleye Kunle
Ikeja Electric, IE, announced yesterday that it has completed the upgrade of its customer systems to facilitate easy transactions.
Mr. Felix Ofulue, Public Affairs Manager of Ikeja Electric, confirmed the completion of the exercise to Energy Vanguard, saying that the upgrade was completed over the weekend and that customers can now easily access their accounts online.
“The system upgrade has been completed,” Ofulue stated. It took place over the weekend.”
As previously reported by Energy Track News, Ikeja Electric announced last Friday that it will shut down its customers’ billing and vending channels and infrastructures for 48 hours, from July 15th to 17th, 2022, to allow for an upgrade.
According to a management statement, customers should buy energy ahead of the shutdown because they may not be able to access necessary information, vending, and data.
“Ikeja Electric wishes to notify its customers that in order to improve on our billing and other integrated platforms, we will be carrying out a 48-hour Customer Information System, CIS, 2.0 system upgrade between the 15th and 17th of July, 2022,” according to a public notice issued by the organization.
“During this period of upgrade, customers’ ability to perform the following tasks on our platforms may be hampered.” However, our Engineers will make every effort to complete the upgrade on time while minimizing the impact on customer experience.”
