Ikpeazu gives two NYSC members automatic employment
Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on Thursday gave automatic employment to two out of five 2019 Batch ‘B’ and ‘C’ corps members, who distinguished themselves during the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.
The corps members: Nyah Patrick S, Ogunlere Oluwetobi Mathew, Adeola Oluwagbemileke Samuel, Sebe Godspower Oghenemaroh and Babatunde Dolapo received state honours award and cash prizes for their outstanding performance and execution of some life touching personal community development projects.
Presenting the awards to the corps members, Governor Ikpeazu, who congratulated the awardees for achieving the feat despite the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic, said the corps members exhibited true resilience of a Nigerian youth.
The governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Chris Ezem, restated that the current administration, in line with its resolve to reward and honour every outstanding corps member, had offered automatic employment to two ex-corps members, who performed well during the service year.
He urged the awardees not to relent in rendering selfless service to humanity wherever they find themselves, stressing that the reward for hard work is more work.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development and Chairman, NYSC State Governing Board, Chief Emeka Ikwuagwu, thanked the governor for his support, which, according to him, made the ceremony a reality.
