Ikpeazu to honour six health workers

TRACKING___Abia State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is set to honour six health workers in recognition of their efforts and selfless service in the fight against COVID-19.

The medical personnel, according to reports, would be honoured during the state’s 29th year anniversary of the state on August 27.

The medics including doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians and other medical personnel from state, federal and as well as private clinics in the state was said to have volunteered to be trained and to work at the state isolation centre during the outbreak of the pandemic in the state.

Also to be recognised is a female officer of the staff of Transport and Indiscipline Management Agency of Abia State (TIMAAS); Ugochi C. Uche who distinguished herself in the task of controlling traffic, particularly at FMC junction of Ikot Ekpene Road, Umuahia, the state capital, where she turns up every morning before rush hour and work through the day in a very neat uniform with visible passion to ensure free flow of traffic.

Those to be honored according to the governor include: Dr Stanley Okerulu, Dr Ijeoma Nduka, Peace Nwaogwugwu, Dr Azubuike Onyebuchi, Nurse Lilian Anyanwu and Nurse Kemi Olowoniyi.
