Imo LG election holds September 21st

Bearing all unforeseen circumstances,the much awaited local government elections in Imo State would hold on Saturday September 21, 2024.

This is contained in a statement signed by Hon. Charles Ejiogu, Chairman, Imo State Independent Electoral Commission, ISIEC,  over the weekend and made available to news men in Owerri, including The Authority.

According to Ejiogu, “the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission wishes to inform all registered political parties and the general public that local government elections in the state will be held on Saturday, September 21st, 2024.

“Election guidelines and other details can be collected from the Headquarters of Imo State Electoral Commission (ISEC) in Owerri.

Recall that two weeks ago, Governor Hope Uzodimma in announcing the names of the yet to be sworn in appointed Sole Administrators of the 27 Council Areas of the State, said that the appointments is a prelude to the State Government plans to conduct local government elections in the next 6 months.

The last local government elections in the State was held on Saturday 24th August 2018 under the second tenure, Rescue Mission administration of Owelle  Rochas Okorocha.
