Mohammed O. Taoheed reports,

Chief Charles Ugochukwu Ahize, the flag-bearer of the Labour Party (LP) for the Imo West senatorial race, has expressed joy for the massive support being accorded the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, by a large majority of the people in the state.

Speaking in his Umuezennachi Ihioma residence in Orlu Local Government Area, Ahize pointed that Obi represents the hope of the common man and hence Imolites are enthusiastic to support his aspiration to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to him: “I am impressed with what I am seeing in Imo today and I must say that I am not surprised by the turnout and the huge support Peter Obi and the Labour Party are enjoying in Imo State at the moment. Imolites are progressives and we have always identified with whatever is in the best interest of the common man.”

In his words: “We are working to ensure that Peter Obi does not only emerge victorious but that the Labour Party wins 90 per cent of the votes to be cast in the entire Orlu zone.

“Already, there is no other political party in Orlu, and when the campaign formally kicks off, you shall see an unprecedented coalition of progressives from across parties and persuasions aligning with the Labour Party.”
