Imo unfolds plan for industrialisation
TRACKING___Imo State government has stated its preparedness to make the state the Dubai of the Southeast by engaging independent power plant companies to boost commercial activities.
The Commissioner for Special Duties, Simon Ebegbulem who made this known to The Nation after taking the oath of office , said that the measure when realised would also boost the housing sector and technological development of the state in addition to regular supply of potable water and power supply in the next few years.
Ebegbulem, a renowned media expert as well as ex-Special Adviser (media) to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said that the state would evolve lasting strategies to arrest the rampant outbreak of restiveness in the oil-producing communities of the state.
This, he said would help to accelerate their pace of growth and development stating that all projects abandoned by past administrations in the state would be completed with dispatch.

“The governor is in a hurry to transform this state which has for long been in bondage and as a politician with enviable reputation, he understands what governance is all about and the problems confronting the people.
“This current administration is serious with his policy of Recovery, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation and as a Commissioner for Special Duties, I will do my best for us to regain our lost glory since Chief Sam Mbakwe left office as governor of the old Imo State.
According to him the government will work to eradicate poverty in the state in the next few years.
