In Niger, bandits kidnap three ladies
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
From a village in Niger State, bandits have abducted three women.
The incident took place at Saminaka in the state’s Lapai council early on Sunday evening.
Sources claim that the terrorists started shooting as soon as they entered the neighborhood and then moved on to a restaurant where they kidnapped the women.
It was also found that two diesel tankers carrying fuel were hit by some of the terrorists’ gunfire, causing the tankers to erupt.
The three women that were abducted included Zainab Usman, the owner of the eatery, and two of her employees.
Mohammed Isah, a local, claimed: “When we heard the gunfire, we started running in search of refuge.” The robbers were firing nonstop. Despite the fact that Saminaka is a small village, the attack, according to him, has paralyzed the entire area.
According to police spokesman DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who also confirmed the attack, two fully loaded diesel tankers were also struck by stray bullets.
He said that initiatives were still being taken to release the hostages.
