In Nigeria, Uniccon will unveil Africa’s first humanoid robot
THE UNICCON GROUP OF COMPANIES has announced plans to unveil ‘Omeife,’ Africa’s first humanoid robot, in Nigeria.Mr. Chuks Ekwueme, the group’s CEO, said in a statement yesterday in Abuja that the event would take place today.Ekwueme described the six-foot-tall female African humanoid as a multipurpose and assistance robot that provides language as a service for businesses that need to integrate native African audiences.”It recognizes and tags humans based on their faces and facial expressions, focusing on a specific item when necessary.””It recognizes objects, knows their properties, and calculates the positions and distances between objects it sees.””It focuses on a specific person to keep the conversation going.” It is mindful of words, phrases, sentences, and expressions that are inappropriate in African cultures.”It is safe for the child’s interaction.” It is not reactive, and it is knowledgeable in a variety of fields and is always willing to learn.”It has the ability to recall and understand old concepts better with new information to improve and understand new things from conversations,” he said.Omeife’s features, according to Ekwueme, include terrain intelligence, position awareness, advanced gestures, and grip.
