IPOB: Details Of Governor Uzodinma’s Meeting With Nigerian Air Force

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has met with Air Vice-Marshal Frank Okpara over security challenges in the state.
Tracknews Online reports that Governor Uzodinma disclosed details in the meeting in a post on Facebook.
The governor stated that they deliberated on issues bordering on improved security of lives and properties in line with the most professional conduct and rules of engagement.
Uzodinma said, ”In furtherance to our synergy with security agencies for an improved security network across the state and other sundry services, yesterday I had an interactive session with Air Vice Marshal Frank Okpara who came calling on an official visit
“We deliberated on issues bordering on improved security of lives and properties in line with the most professional conduct and rules of engagement while flushing out every bad egg that chose to be unrepentant and I am optimistic of a sustained and improved security situation of our dear State.
“Prominent on our discussion is the establishment of Air Force Secondary School to complement on our existing educational institutions and offer a greater sense of belonging. I leveraged this visit to seek the full equipping of the Air Force Hospital in Owerri and ensuring the availability of Healthcare services to the host community and the state at large.”
Tracknews Online reports that IPOB had declared a sit-at-home on Mondays, beginning August 9, to protest the detention and prosecution of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Though the group later suspended the order, residents of the South East continued to observe the order and businesses in the region had remained deserted on Mondays over fear of attacks by the militia arm of IPOB.
Recall that the Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkume in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State was on Monday invaded by gunmen believed to be members of IPOB enforcing the sit-at-home order.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the school premises to stop students from writing their examinations.
The gunmen invaded the school while students were preparing for the English Language paper of the Junior Secondary School Examination.
The incident saw teachers and students run to safety as the gunmen shot sporadically into the air to disperse them.
The gunmen after chasing the students set ablaze some motorcycles belonging to some of the staff and students.
