The Speaker of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Parliament Worldwide, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Tomoni Allen, has strongly condemned any attempts to impeach Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, declaring that such a move would not succeed under any circumstances.

In a statement, Allen accused certain political actors of deliberately creating an atmosphere of crisis in Rivers State for their personal gain. He warned that such actions could plunge the state and the Niger Delta region back into economic instability similar to the period before the Amnesty Program.

According to Allen, Rivers State belongs to all its people and should not be controlled by what he described as “greedy, insatiable political charlatans” who see themselves as untouchable political lords. He reminded them that Rivers people have, in the past, successfully resisted external political interference, including federal interventions.

Allen reaffirmed that Governor Fubara is not alone in his battle against what he termed “political imperialism” in the state. He warned that any attempt to remove the governor would be met with strong resistance from the Ijaw Nation.

Calling for peace, Allen urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and ensure that all parties involved in the political crisis maintain stability for the collective good of the state and the continued economic contributions of the region.

He concluded with a firm declaration of the Ijaw Youth Council’s unwavering support for Governor Sim Fubara, emphasizing that they would stand by him through any challenges.
