Jermaine Franklin has been in the ring with both Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte recently and so, is in a position to know the abilities of the two pugilists, who will meet for the third time at the O2 Arena, London, next month.

When they were still amateurs, Whyte had the better of Joshua, but the former two-time world champion had the last laugh in the pro ranks in 2015.
Joshua’s career has been the more flambuoyant as he has risen to hold world titles on two occasions, but then, Whyte still believes he is the better fighter.

With the pugilists set to enter the ring for the third time, Frankiln, who has tasted their punching powers and fighting techniques, believes Whyte would be an easy meat for Joshua.

The American had a close fight with Whyte but ultimately lost a majority decision with scores of 115-115, 116-112, 116-112, while Joshua settled for a one-sided points victory over the same opponent.

Speaking to iFL TV via boxing-social.com, Franklin predicted a comfortable night’s work for Joshua.

“I think Joshua will beat Whyte. I don’t think it’ll be a hard fight for Joshua.

“It was a little harder for Joshua to punch me cause it’s harder for bigger guys to punch down than it is for shorter guys to punch up, but you know when you’re taller some of those shots are easier to get off.

“Yeah I think he beats Dillian,” he said. Joshua and Whyte will meet at the 02 Arena on August 12.
