Jigawa Gov, Badaru approves N12,000 new pension increase

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has approved the implementation of the new minimum monthly pension of twelve thousand naira N12,000 to pensioners in the state.
This was disclosed by the State Head of the Civil Service, Hussaini Ali Kila in a statement issued to newsmen.
He said the new revised minimum monthly pension of twelve thousand naira N12,000 was approved after negotiation between the Government and pension union.
The Head of Service explained that with this approval, his office is now empowered to implement the upward adjustment according to the approved template.
Kila added that the increase of the new pension payment would start from January 2023.
He said a circular indicating the pension increase for pensioners would be issued to all relevant stakeholders for immediate implementation with effect from January 2023.
“I thank all stakeholders and our patient pensioners for bearing with the processes that have finally culminated in the successful conclusion of the matter.
“I look forward to a more proactive and seamless implementation of subsequent increases in the future so that our senior citizens who served their country enjoy the fruits of their labour from a grateful Jigawa State,” he said
