Jigawa govt burns N1.7m adulterated items

Jigawa State consumer protection committee has burnt adulterated items worth N1.7m.
The chairman of the committee, Mallam Farouk Abdallah said the adulterated items were confiscated at Hadejia emirate.
He said the seized items include 530 bags of fertilizer, four bags of rice, 14 bags of wheat, 4 bags of sesame, 7 cartons of insecticide, one bag of soya beans and zobo.
He said the destruction of the adulterated items followed the order by the Hadejia Magistrate court.
Abdallah noted that his committee will continue to seize and destroy any commodity alleged to be adulterated.
He sought the support and cooperation of the general public towards the committee’s efforts to protect the lives of the citizens
